What do I need to bring?
Please come having recently showered as we only have cool showers for rinsing. Bring your swimwear, 2 towels (1 for sitting on for hygiene reasons in the sauna and 1 for drying off), a water bottle to rehydrate during sessions, Beach Shoes/flip flops are ESSENTIAL and a bathrobe/swimrobe if you wish.  Day wear or underwear is not permitted in the saunas.

Changing room space is limited during busy periods, so it’s a good idea to come in easy, comfortable clothing to allow for a quick change. Travel light and if possible arrive ready to sauna!


How to find us?
Beach Box Spa, Banjo Groyne, 285 Madeira Drive, Brighton BN2 1EN – Our new site is located at the bottom of Dukes Mound, behind the Volks Railway workshop.  Find us on the pebbles, by the Banjo groyne – a great spot for sea dips!

Will I be sharing a sauna?
Yes, if you buy individual tickets.  Horseboxes take 6 people and the larger sauna takes 12.

Private Hire:  If you prefer to hire a Sauna privately, you will need to book all 6 tickets in a horsebox or all 9 in Lotta sauna. If 6/9 tickets aren’t available in your desired slot, it means that other people are already booked in. Look for a slot with 6 / 9 tickets available.

How do I reschedule a session?
If you want to change to a different date, time or no. of people and it is within our cancellation period, please email us at hello@beachboxspa.co.uk


How do I cancel a session?
Please read our cancellation policy before you cancel.

If you are within the allowed cancellation period, Log into your Bookeo account and go to ‘Your Bookings’. You can then select to cancel the session.

Important! If you have cancelled a booking you need to request a Beach Box Credit or refund by emailing hello@beachboxspa.co.uk Our cancellation policy applies.

Please note: We regret that we can not offer cash refunds for unused credits/vouchers.


When is Peak & Off-Peak?

Off-peak | Mon – Thurs all day/night (closed Tues) & Fri until 5pm

Peak | Fri after 5pm, all weekend & Bank Holidays


Are children allowed?

For health and safety reasons, we regret that under 16’s are not allowed in the saunas or plunge pools.


Do you offer Memberships?
Yes we do!! Join our Beach Box Members Club for just £30 per month and half price Express sessions,  discounted 90 minute sauna sessions and events – as well as some great offers and freebies from our BB friends in the monthly Members newsletter! (So far, we’ve had free Hotpod yoga sessions, free fitness classes on the beach and some great discounts off Wildling Drinks, Graze Coffee and more).

We also have an Express Sauna Pass10 sessions for just £85 (saving of £4.50 per session)


Can I add extras and treatments at a later date?
Yes, Log into your Bookeo account and go to ‘Your bookings’. Click on the session you want to add to and it will show you a list of available treatments you can choose from.

You can also purchase face masks, scrubs, etc on the day. 


How many salt scrubs/clay masks/body care platters should I add for my group/per person?
Our platters, masks and scrubs are per person, but they can be shared between 2 if less product is required.


How many bunches of leaf whisks do I need?
Traditionally 2 bunches are used to give a thermal massage – the hosts can show you the basics . 1 bunch is great too for giving the sauna a woody smell and for more basic whisking techniques.


Adverse weather conditions.
We will close during adverse weather conditions such as strong gusts of wind, and in the case of an electrical storm, otherwise we are open in all weathers. Having a sauna in the rain, sleet and snow is the most invigorating thing! We can’t give refunds or credits for bad weather if we deem it safe to be open.


Food and drink policy – can we bring alcohol/food?
Saunas, sea plunges and alcohol don’t mix well and can make accidents happen, so we have a strict no-alcohol policy at our spa. We also reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who we deem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, without a refund or credit. You are welcome to bring along soft drinks to re-hydrate you during your visit. You can bring nibbles too if required (salty is good for post sauna mineral replacement) but we don’t allow food inside the saunas themselves.


What is the Sauna etiquette (re nudity/towels, etc)?
If you were to book one of our saunas for exclusive use, you’re welcome to sauna in the German and Finnish way, however you will need to cover outside the sauna and in the shower area as this is open to the public. This could be with a hammam towel that you don’t mind getting wet.

Clothing is compulsory if you’ve booked an individual ticket. We ask that every customer sits on a towel at all times in the saunas.

Are there changing rooms/lockers/showers?
We have changing rooms onsite and cold, freshwater showers. Small lockers for wallets and phones are available – ask at reception if required.


Can I Purchase a Gift Voucher?
 Yes you can purchase a gift voucher here.

Select the amount you would like to give and after checkout you will see an option to create a personalised gift card to send to the recipient.

Add a message and it’s ready for you to email or print off and send in a card.

The recipient can then book the session or event of their choice. They are ‘smart’ coupons so they can be used multiple times across our saunas until the balance is used up.

Please note: We cannot offer cash refunds for unused vouchers/credits.



Is there any parking?
Weekends in the summer are very busy, better in winter. Check travel apps for traffic updates. During the week there is usually plenty of space on the nearby meters, either on Madeira Drive itself, or up on Marine Parade – you can then walk down the steps onto Madeira Drive. During busier times, there is a free multi-storey car park at Brighton Marina, which is an approximate 15 minute walk along the seafront from us.

How do I book?

All our sessions and memberships are bookable via Bookeo, a specialist booking system. To book a session with us you will need to create an account – you can create an account here or you will be prompted to create an account when you make your first booking.


What will happen to my Beach Box Credits from your old booking system?

If you have any unexpired Beach Box Credits that you would like us to transfer to Bookeo, please create an account here and then let us know at hello@beachboxspa.co.uk and we will transfer the credits to you asap.

Check if you have any credits remaining in the old system by logging in here.


How can I amend a booking?

You can change details of your booking and add treatments up to 3 days before your session by going to your Bookeo account.
