What do I need to bring?
Please come having recently showered as we only have cool showers for rinsing. Bring your swimwear, 2 towels (1 for sitting on for hygiene reasons in the sauna and 1 for drying off), a water bottle to rehydrate during sessions, Beach Shoes/flip flops are ESSENTIAL and a bathrobe/swimrobe if you wish.  Day wear or underwear is not permitted in the saunas.

How to find us?
Beach Box Spa, Banjo Groyne, 285 Madeira Drive, Brighton BN2 1EN – Our new site is located at the bottom of Dukes Mound, behind the Volks Railway workshop.  Find us on the pebbles, by the Banjo groyne – a great spot for sea dips!

Will I be sharing a sauna?
We offer single tickets for our Saunas at £25 off-peak, £30 peak per person, with 6 available per session. This is a great option for individuals and smaller groups who are happy to share the space.

Private Hire:  If you prefer to hire a Sauna privately, you will need to book all 6 tickets. If 6 tickets aren’t available in your desired slot, it means that other people are already booked in. Look for a slot with 6 tickets available.

How do I reschedule a session?
If you want to change to a different date and it is within our cancellation period, please email us at hello@beachboxspa.co.uk

How do I cancel a session?
Please read our cancellation policy before you cancel.

If you are within the allowed cancellation period, Log into your account and go to Manage My Sauna Sessions and select ‘Cancel’ next to the booking.

Important! If you have cancelled a booking you need to request a Beach Box Credit or refund by emailing hello@beachboxspa.co.uk . Our cancellation policy applies.

Please note: Credits will be valid for Beach Box’s new site. Due to our temporary status on this site, they will be valid until 1st April 2023 only. We regret that we can not offer cash refunds for unused credits/vouchers.

Are there changing rooms/lockers/showers?
We have 2 changing areas onsite and cold, freshwater showers. Small lockers for wallets and phones are available – ask at reception if required.

Are children allowed?
You are welcome to bring children if you are booking one of our Saunas for exclusive use only. We regret that under 16s cannot join shared sauna sessions.

Children of 5 years or over are welcome on a child to adult ratio of 1:1 if they are under 7. Under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult inside the saunas at all times. If you are leaving the sauna to shower/cool off, please do not leave the children alone in the sauna whilst you do so. Please ensure children don’t run onsite or jump into the plunge baths as there are many trip hazards, and of course be very careful with little hands near the stoves.

A full child safety brief will be given on arrival.

Can I add extras and treatments at a later date?
Yes, tap the Book Now button on our website and scroll down to ‘ADD TREATMENTS TO AN EXISTING BOOKING’, you can then choose your treatments and enter your order number when prompted. This will link the treatments to your Sauna booking. Otherwise you can purchase face masks, scrubs, etc on the day. Please note we need 48 hours notice for the Wellness Ice Bath.

How many salt scrubs/clay masks/body care platters should I add for my group/per person?
Our platters, masks and scrubs are per person, but they can be shared between 2 if less product is required.

How many bunches of leaf whisks do I need?
Traditionally 2 bunches are used to give a thermal massage – the hosts can show you the basics . 1 bunch is great too for giving the sauna a woody smell and for more basic whisking techniques.

Food and drink policy – can we bring alcohol/nibbles?
Saunas, sea plunges and alcohol don’t mix well and can make accidents happen, so we have a strict no-alcohol policy at our spa. We also reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who we deem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, without a refund or credit. You are welcome to bring along soft drinks to re-hydrate you during your visit. You can bring nibbles too if required (salty is good for post sauna mineral replacement) but we don’t allow food inside the saunas themselves.

What is the Sauna etiquette (re nudity/towels, etc)?
If you were to book one of our saunas for exclusive use, you’re welcome to sauna in the German and Finnish way, however you will need to cover outside the sauna and in the shower area as this is open to the public. This could be with a hammam towel that you don’t mind getting wet.

Clothing is compulsory if you’ve booked an individual ticket. We ask that every customer sits on a towel at all times in the saunas.

Can I Purchase a Gift Voucher?
 Yes you can purchase an e-card for the value of your choice here. Just select for it to be emailed on a particular date and time directly to the recipient on their email address as the coupon will be linked to the email address and will only work for that person. The recipient can then click on the e-card and be taken directly to our website where they can book as they wish. They are ‘smart’ coupons in that they can hold change and be used multiple times across our saunas.

Please note: We cannot offer cash refunds for unused vouchers/credits.

Do you offer Memberships?
Yes! We offer Express Memberships onsite too. Buy 10 sessions, get 2 free. You can then just pop in as you’re passing by for your sea swim and jump in the sauna for your 45 minute sizzle, subject to availability on the day. You can also call us before setting off to see if we have a slot available for you.

The membership sessions apply to our midweek Express Sauna slots only. They are valid for use by the member only and can not be passed onto friends/family.

Express Memberships are bookable on the beach only, come down and say hello to our beach team and we’ll talk you through it.

Adverse weather conditions.
We will close if there are strong gusts of wind over 50mph, otherwise we are open in all weathers. Having a sauna in the rain, sleet and snow is the most invigorating thing! We can’t give refunds or credits for bad weather if we are open.

Is there any parking?
Weekends in the summer are very busy, better in winter. Check travel apps for traffic updates. During the week there is usually plenty of space on the nearby meters, either on Madeira Drive itself, or up on Marine Parade – you can then walk down the steps onto Madeira Drive. During busier times, there is a free multi-storey car park at Brighton Marina, which is an approximate 15 minute walk along the seafront from us.
