Sauna Use Waiver and Terms & Conditions Agreement

 

Use of the sauna is at your own risk. By booking you acknowledge that you understand and accept the terms and conditions of sauna use. Please read carefully.

Health & Safety Disclaimer:

I acknowledge that I have read and understood the safety guidelines provided. I understand that I am responsible for my own health and safety while using the sauna.

I confirm that I have consulted with my GP if I am in doubt about the safety of using the sauna due to any health conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Pregnancy
  • Heart attack or stroke history
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • Epilepsy
  • Asthma or breathing conditions
  • High or low blood pressure
  • Arterial disease
  • Joint or muscle injury
  • Any medications that could affect my ability to safely use the sauna
  • Metal pins, rods, artificial joints, or any other surgical implants that may be affected by heat or may limit my ability to safely use the sauna
  • Any other medical condition that may affect my safety

If any of the above apply, I have sought medical advice before using the sauna.

Age & Supervision Requirements:

Child Policy: Children aged 6 to 15 years are welcome at Beach Box but only in a privately hired sauna. They cannot join communal sessions. They must be accompanied by a responsible adult at a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children at all times.

Children under 16 years old: I confirm that I am the Parent/Guardian/Adult Family Member and will remain present with the minor at all times during sauna use. I take full responsibility for the minor’s behaviour and safety.

I acknowledge that specific child-friendly events may occasionally be held, and the relevant terms and conditions will be displayed on the booking page for those events.

No children under 16 are allowed in ice baths or plunge pools.

Sauna Use Guidelines:

I agree to follow all instructions and guidelines regarding the sauna:

  • I will never touch the stove, stove door, flu chimney, sauna rocks, or surrounding fire guards.
  • I will pour water on the stones starting from the point furthest away from me to prevent scalding.
  • I will sit on a towel at all times while using the sauna. If I forget to bring my towel, I am happy to rent a towel on site for £2.
  • I will limit my sauna rounds to 5-20 minutes for safety reasons.
  • I will remove all jewellery before entering the sauna to avoid burns.
  • I will not use essential oils in the sauna without prior permission.
  • I will arrive having recently showered, as Beach Box only offers cool showers for rinsing.
  • I will not wear or use any of my own products or lotions inside the saunas, as they may contain ingredients that could be harmful or cause slippery surfaces.
  • I will enter and exit the sauna with care.
  • I will not bring alcohol or smoke in or around the sauna.
Slippery Surfaces:

I understand that the sauna and surrounding areas may have slippery surfaces caused by water, ice, snow, or other substances. I will exercise caution when moving around the sauna and other areas, and I acknowledge that I am responsible for my own safety in these areas.

Airborne Illnesses & Contaminants:

I acknowledge that the sauna and other public spaces may contain airborne illnesses and contaminants, which are undertaken at my own risk. I am aware of the potential for exposure to such risks in public spaces and accept full responsibility for any related health concerns or infections.

Personal Property:

I understand that any property I choose to bring to Beach Box is left at my own risk. Beach Box cannot be held responsible for any stored, lost, or damaged items.

Wildlife Acknowledgment:

I acknowledge that Beach Box Spa Ltd coexists with local wildlife on Brighton Beach, which may include but is not limited to aquatic wildlife such as marine birds, fish, crustaceans, and jellyfish, as well as terrestrial wildlife such as rodents and insects.

I agree to wear footwear at all times when not inside the saunas, as a preventative measure to avoid injuries caused by stepping on any of the listed wildlife.

I understand that Beach Box Spa Ltd cannot accept responsibility for any incidents involving wildlife within or outside of its perimeter.

Nudity Policy:

Shared Public Session: In a shared public session, I must cover up below the waist with swimwear bottoms, a hammam towel, or a suitable equivalent. I can choose to be topless throughout the site.

Exclusive Sauna Use: If I book a sauna for exclusive use, I am welcome to sauna naked (bottomless). However, I must be covered below the waist outside the sauna, including in the shower and plunge areas.

Clothing-Optional Events: If I am partaking in a full-site clothing-optional event hosted by Beach Box, I am welcome to be naked (bottomless), both inside and outside the sauna.

Cancellation Policy:

72 hours notice is required for a full refund. Credits can be given if you give us at least 48 hours notice.
We regret that we can’t offer any refunds, credits or reschedule with less than 48 hours notice.

BOOKING PROTECTION FEE £1.50 per person (non-refundable) – Optional, but highly recommended! This option is available when you make your booking on the individual sauna or event page.
Receive credits (no refunds) for the full amount of your booking if you need to cancel less than 48 hours prior to your slot. You must cancel a minimum of 2 hours before the slot begins, we can not issue credits retrospectively for no shows.
Please Note: Booking Protection is not applicable to large bookings of more than 1 sauna, and/or private sauna master hire, or Festive holiday sessions (24/25/26/31st Dec & 1st Jan).

FOR LARGER BOOKINGS OF MORE THAN 1 SAUNA, it’s slightly different. We need 7 full days notice for a full refund and 5 days notice for credits. We regret that we can’t give a refund or credits if it’s less than 5 days notice. Booking protection is not applicable to large bookings of more than 1 sauna.

Private Sauna Master Hire – We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel a Sauna Master.

COURSES: are non-refundable. If you can’t make a session you may transfer your ticket to a friend – sorry no refunds.

Tested positive for Covid? Please let us know as soon as possible. If you can’t find anyone to take your place, then our usual cancellation policy will apply – Unless you have selected the booking protection fee.

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that we can not offer cash refunds for unused credits/vouchers.

Adverse Weather: For health and safety reasons, Beach Box reserves the right to cancel my session in the event of adverse weather, such as strong gusts of wind or electrical storms. The session will be fully refunded in this case. If Beach Box deems it safe to remain open, Beach Box will not provide refunds or credits for bad weather.

Behavioural Conduct:

I agree to behave in a respectful manner to fellow sauna customers and staff at all times. I will abide by the rules and regulations of Beach Box Spa Ltd.

I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to comply with Beach Box’s Inclusion Policy, which commits to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all visitors regardless of race, ethnicity, cultural background, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, body size, appearance, family structure, or relationship status.

I understand and agree to uphold Beach Box’s principles of diversity, equality, and inclusion, including:

  • Respecting the inclusive nature of our space and mixed/gender-specific session policies
  • Being mindful of others’ comfort, privacy, and diverse needs
  • Using correct names and pronouns when interacting with others
  • Respecting cultural practices and accessibility requirements of other guests
  • Following all facility guidelines designed to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort

I acknowledge Beach Box’s Zero Tolerance Policy and understand that the following behaviours will result in immediate removal from the premises without refund or credit, and may result in permanent ban:

  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, or use of derogatory language
  • Unwelcome comments about someone’s body, appearance, or identity
  • Deliberate misuse of names, pronouns, or identities
  • Unwanted physical contact or invasion of personal space
  • Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual behaviour
  • Taking photos or videos of others without explicit consent
  • Any behaviour that creates an unsafe, unwelcoming, or discriminatory environment

I understand that failure to adhere to these behaviour standards and inclusion principles may result in removal from the premises without refund or credit, and potentially permanent exclusion from Beach Box facilities. I agree to report any concerns about violations of these policies to staff immediately.

Group Booking Responsibility:

If I am booking the sauna for a group, I confirm that I will inform all members of the group about these terms and conditions, ensuring their understanding and adherence to all safety and usage guidelines.

Health & Safety Disclaimer for Refused Admission:

I understand that the sauna facility reserves the right to refuse admission if any user poses a health or safety risk. No refunds will be provided for users refused admission.
